CHAVEZ MIRANDA ASEOCHE is a medium-sized firm which specializes in litigation. The firm metamorphosed from what was known as Chavez Laureta & Associates Law Offices established by Attys. Francisco (“Frank”) I. Chavez and Jose C. Laureta in August 1992. With the retirement of Atty. Laureta in August 2001 and the elevation of Attys. Buenaventura B. Miranda and Luis Angel G. Aseoche as name partners, the firm became known as Chavez Miranda Aseoche Law Offices beginning January 1, 2004.

Atty. Frank Chavez graduated Cum Laude at the University of the Philippines (U.P.) College of Law in 1971. He is a noted legal practitioner and earned the distinction of being the youngest Solicitor General of the Philippines. As Solicitor General from 1987 to 1992 under the administration of Pres. Corazon Aquino, Atty. Frank Chavez steered the Office of the Solicitor General into winning 74 of the 81 government/policy cases decided by the Philippine Supreme Court.

Atty. Laureta, now retired, is also an alumnus of the U.P. College of Law Batch 1956. He took up his masteral at the Yale University (LL.M, 1964). Atty. Laureta was a former Commissioner of the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) and Associate Commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) from 1987 to 1989.

The two (2) young partners, Attys. Miranda and Aseoche have been with the firm for more than ten (10) years now. Atty. Miranda is a graduate of the U.P. College of Law in 1990. Before joining the firm, Atty. Miranda served in the legal staff of former Court of Appeals and Supreme Court Justice Cancio Garcia.

Atty. Aseoche is likewise a product of the U.P. College of Law in 1992. Prior to entering the firm, Atty. Aseoche worked in the Senate under then Senator (later on Vice-President) Teofisto T. Guingona, Jr. and then Senator (later on Department of Education Secretary) Raul S. Roco.
